Requiem for a Dream (2000): very odd movie. weirder than any p.t. anderson flick i've seen. almost like they tried a little too hard to create the abstractness. there are some extremely nice visuals, but i just don't get the messages they were trying to put out. like, why did the mom deserve all that she got? cuz she was living some fantasy world? surely not a reason for her to end up such a kook. not a bad movie, just not a really good one. don't see it.
Monster (2003): lets start with how beautiful and perfect christina ricci was. why was she overlooked for an oscar? she completely equaled the performance of theron. she just didn't have the makeup that charlize had. speaking of, she looks sooo freaking sick in this movie. hard to get it out of your head that its her while watching it. they did a very good job of playing with emotions too. one sec you are feeling sympathy for her, the next you can't believe how anyone could do those things. from what i saw, she deserved the award. she'd have to for allowing herself to look that ugly. see it.
so today is kim's 23rd birthday to all those that forgot. luckily that doesn't include me. going to dinner tonight so that'll be nice. nothing else going down. i work tonight at 1am-7am. let me express my utter joy for that one. so, time to go do the birthday thing. good night to all my peeps who sleep as well as i, which is hardly at all.
by the way, don't download microsoft's service pack 2. its freaking screwed up everything on my comp since doing so. nothing was wrong with my computer, but they have us download their garbage. they can go to hell for all i care.
